At the current time, there isn't a set year/date for the Dream League universe, so each role-player can shape up his or her character's origin exclusively for the Dream League RPG.
For example, some characters--Paradox, Sir Pendragon, Archimedes, and Madam Mim--are from the dark ages, but they arrived in Epcot City by time traveling magic.
In Dream League's universe, Sunshine is from a "faraway kingdom" that is not charted on the world map, similar to Themyscira. Because of this, the heavily medieval-like Aurora's presence in America can be explained.
Does any of this make sense? I received a question about this subject, so I don't want anyone to feel lost.

I get it. I admit I thought the characters from pre-19th century settings (with the exception of those like Paradox and co.) would be treated like they are in FK; just something there and not really questioned (if that makes sense).

Yeah, exactly. "Don't ask, don't tell."
