Please, everyone, may I have your attention? Earlier today, Heffy and I have admitted that Fantasmic Kingdom has been almost completely inactive for months now, and if it's left this way, it will surely die. Fantasmic Kingdom has been dying, is still dying, and will die outright unless we intervene. Almost 9 full years down the drain. A most depressing thought.
But, we know how to save it, and we know how to save it in a way that won't ruin the Dream League. Instead of the two forums playing tug-o-war with its members, there's a better, more practical solution.
We are going to combine the two forums together.
I know, that might sound strange and impossible, but it's really quite simple! The FK site (fantasmick.proboards.com) will host both the Fantasmic Kingdom canon (a by-the-book Disney RPG) and the Dream League. They will be separated, so you can pick and choose where to go. If you're only interested in the Dream League, then you can post in just the Dream League, and vice versa! Or, you could participate in both. This will completely prevent a tug-o-war between sites. Instead of attending one website and leaving the other in the dust, both will be combined into one unified site.
This merger is happening with the combined efforts of me, Amanda, Heffy, and Collin. In fact, Collin was very instrumental with this idea, so thanks, Collin!
I have to go brb, but I will edit this announcement when I return, with more information.

Please don't make any new accounts in Fantasmic Kingdom until we say you're free to do so. Thank you.

Ok, so organizationally...
Will it be two completely different subforums, like the main page will ONLY have the subforums of "F.K." and "D.L.", then those separate forums will contain the forums as we currently see them? (This makes the most organizational sense to me.)
And they're still completely unable to be crossed over, yes?

To elaborate on Joe's previous message NOT to create your DL accounts there yet, I will explain why.
Years ago, I did the exact same thing I am about to detail. To make the process of this transition much easier on our members, this is what is going to happen: when you create your DL account on FK, all of your in-character posts on this forum will be intact, and will still be able to be looked up from your profile, and you should retain the ability to edit posts, too.
Now, you may be wondering... how is this possible?
Rather than having all of us shuffle about like goobers to get this done, Joe, Heffy, and myself are dividing you members among us. We will create accounts on FK for each of your characters, copy/paste your posts from here to there, then delete said accounts. Now, when you do re-make your account over there, if you have the exact same account/sign-in name, every single post made from it will be applied to your accounts.
Emphasis:
You MUST create your account there with the same name used to transfer the posts. For example, an account for maskedmallard will be made to transfer all of Masked Mallard's posts. If Nicole signs up with a name other than maskedmallard as the login, this will not work; the maskedmallard posts will not be applied by the forum to her account. For that reason, we will be posting here on DL the exact sign-in name which needs to be used when creating your account. Bear in mind, this has nothing at all to do with your display name.
Someone will make an announcement when to create your accounts on FK.

The site will be divided into Fantasmic Kingdom and The Dream League, in that order. The only way FK can crossover into DL is in a non-canon crossover plot, such as the one going right now in FK. Otherwise, FK and DL take place in completely different alternate universes; they are literally their own canon. |

Finding peas or whatever in my little dessert always angered me.  L, looks like the new combined site will be over at FK. I'd post the link, but I'm not sure if the staff wants to do that themselves or whatever, and I don't wanna step on any toes. Question from me: will this forum eventually be deleted once everything is moved? If so, I'd like to save the ideas from the Adopt-A-Character thread. They're too good to just let disappear. Oh, and the Dream League trivia thread. |
